HomeScience is a comprehensive branch of science that focuses on understanding and
improving various aspects of daily life and household management. It plays a vital role in
enhancing the quality of life. Home Science explains principles related to nutrition,
cooking, textiles, family relationships, and interior decoration. Advances in HomeScience
lead to innovations in healthy living, sustainable household practices, efficient cooking
methods, and interior design. Studying Home Science develops critical thinking,
problem-solving, and practical skills, which are valuable in many careers. The
Department of Home Science supports, encourages, and provides opportunities to the
student community to foster interest in this subject.

Biography

Julie Mary George with 21 years of experience in the field of Home Science, she serves as the Head of the Department at Baldwin PU Girls’ College, where she teaches both first and second-year Pre-University students. Her background also includes guest lecturing at Jain University, bishop cotton women’s Christian college & Global Shaheen Women’s College at Tumkuru and serving as an External Examiner for Practical Exams.

As a detail-oriented individual, Julie Mary George encourages the concept that success is achieved through diligence. Her outstanding teaching abilities have contributed to the college since 2004.She has been instrumental in shaping the academic and personal growth of countless students. Her dedication to fostering a positive learning environment is evident in her innovative teaching methods and commitment to excellence. She has also been a mentor to many, guiding them toward achieving their goals. Her passion for education and her ability to inspire others have made her a beloved figure in the academic community.
